Growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I used to spend my summer vacations on the South Atlantic beaches. I loved sitting on the cool sand at night watching the rich Southern Sky and stay until the Sun rose. During my stay in Cape Town, whose latitude is less than a degree different from that of Buenos Aires, I watched the gorgeous sunsets from the promenade, but stargazing was not as rewarding given the city's light pollution.
